Hi, my name is Cora Holmes. I started this blog to keep readers and friends current with my writing and other goings on since I found myself falling farther and farther behind in answering correspondence. I love hearing from you. Many of you are like family we have been corresponding for so many years. I began writing for Country magazine in 1989 and met a lot of wonderful people through letters. I hope this paperless method can continue in the same vein.

This blog entry brought tears to my eyes. Cora, m thoughts and prayers are with you, little Dakota, and your entire family. I was in Unalaska from 2004-2007, and I was a volunteer firefighter/EMT while I was there. Thank heavens your granddaughter is okay. I am so glad Mike was there to help. Forgive the long delay. As much as I love to write I simply cannot figure out how to access my blog reply part. Today my daughter-in-law is helping me. She has wireless and it works so much faster than what we have at the library.
I did write a children’s book, titled ‘Killian And The Bell’. If you are interested, it is a story about my grandson Killian when he visited the ranch.
Right now I am deep into rewriting Jane Eyre in Mr. Rochester’s point of view. I have wanted to do this for years simply because I want to visit that third floor room and find out what really happened after Jane left even if I make it up myself. charlotte Bronte and I lived quite similar lives of isolation and seclusion, her on the moors and me on the tundra. I’ve always felt a deep kinship with her.

As you can see I don’t know anything about blogs either. One thing I have discovered is they do not do well on dial up internet service. Twenty years does seem to go by pretty fast, doesn’t it? I wish I had more to show for it. I have your sea shore picture in the hall instead of the bathroom, didn’t want to take a chance on too much humidity. How is the painting coming?
